The West Lowndes Panthers topped the host Vardaman Rams basketball team by a final score of 73-54 in Friday's league game.

In their next game, the Panthers face the Smithville Seminoles (Smithville, MS) in a 1A Region 4 game, on Monday, January 29. West Lowndes will attempt to move on its 13-10 season record. The Seminoles enter the game with a 7-9 record after their 74-65 non-league win over Jumpertown (Booneville, MS).

With the defeat, Vardaman moves to 6-13 on the campaign. The Rams travel to Thrasher (Booneville, MS) to battle the Rebels in a non-league battle on Monday, January 29. The Rebels come into the battle with a record of 10-12. Thrasher lost 52-44 in their recent non-league battle against East Union (Blue Springs, MS)
