The Denison-Schleswig Monarchs basketball squad scored 49 points and limited the host Shenandoah Mustangs to 41 in the Monarchs league win on Friday.

With the win, Denison-Schleswig upgrades its record to 8-7 on the season. The Monarchs host Spencer (Spencer, IA) to play the Tigers in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 1-14. Spencer lost 57-30 in their recent league bout against Spirit Lake (Spirit Lake, IA)

Next up, the Mustangs play the Jefferson Yellowjackets (Council Bluffs, IA) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 29. Shenandoah will attempt to upgrade on its 8-8 season record. The Yellowjackets go into the bout with a 1-13 record after their 78-18 league loss to Sioux City East (Sioux City, IA).
