Lafayette Lions (Lafayette, LA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Sulphur Golden Tors (Sulphur, LA), 41-40 in a league bout.

With the win, Lafayette upgrades its record to 10-9 on the season. The Lions travel to Sam Houston (Lake Charles, LA) to clash with the Broncos in a 5A District 3 bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Broncos go into the bout with a record of 4-19.

Next up, the Golden Tors clash with the Carencro Bears (Lafayette, LA) in a 5A District 3 bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Sulphur will attempt to upgrade on its 12-15 season record. The Bears go into the bout with a 18-8 record after their 37-29 league loss to Southside (Youngsville, LA).
