Athens Academy Spartans (Athens, GA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Union County Panthers (Blairsville, GA), 44-30 in a league bout.

With the win, Athens Academy upgrades its record to 8-0 on the season. The Spartans host Providence Christian Academy (Lilburn, GA) to clash with the Storm in a bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Storm go into the bout with a record of 8-4. Providence Christian Academy lost 38-36 in their recent non-league bout against South Gwinnett (Snellville, GA)
