Peru Tigers (Peru, IN) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Whitko Wildcats (South Whitley, IN), 51-43 in a league bout.

With the win, Peru upgrades its record to 11-4 on the season. The Tigers host Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger (Fort Wayne, IN) to play the Saints in a non-league bout on Friday, February 2. The Saints go into the bout with a record of 1-3.

Next up, the Wildcats play the South Adams Starfires (Berne, IN) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 27. Whitko will attempt to upgrade on its 1-6 season record. The Starfires go into the bout with a 0-1 record after their 47-24 non-league loss to Blackford (Hartford City, IN).
