Virginia High School Basketball - Grassfield can't hold off Western Branch

The Western Branch Bruins basketball team scored 58 points and restricted the visiting Grassfield Grizzlies to 54 in the Bruins league victory on Thursday.

The Bruins now sport a 7-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Great Bridge for a Southeastern contest on Friday, January 28. Western Branch will battle a Wildcats team coming off a 69-31 league loss to King's Fork (Suffolk, VA). The Wildcats record now stands at 6-6.

The Grizzlies (6-4) will now prepare for their contest against Nansemond River (Suffolk, VA). The Warriors come into the Southeastern contest with a 5-5 record. In their last contest, Nansemond River was nudged by Indian River (Chesapeake, VA), 74-62, in a league contest.
