The Thurston Colts (Springfield, OR) basketball felled the visiting Sheldon Irish (Eugene, OR), 49-31 in Thursday's non-league test.
The Colts (5-8) will now prepare for their test against South Eugene (Eugene, OR). The Axe go into the non-league test with a 1-11 record. In their last test, South Eugene was beaten by Roseburg (Roseburg, OR), 61-46, in a league test.
The Irish now own a 5-8 record. They play next when they host North Medford for a 6A Southwest test on Saturday, January 29. Sheldon will encounter a Black Tornado squad coming off a 55-46 league win over Grants Pass (Grants Pass, OR). The Black Tornado record now stands at 14-1.
