In Friday's non-league outing, the Fitch Falcons (Groton, CT) basketball squad edged the host Bassick Lions (Bridgeport, CT), by a margin of 63-59.
The Falcons (10-2) will now prepare for their outing against New London (New London, CT). The Whalers go into the Eastern Connecticut I outing with a 11-2 record. In their last outing, New London held off Hall (West Hartford, CT), 59-52, in a non-league outing.
The Lions now own a 3-11 record. They play next when they travel to East Catholic for a non-league outing on Thursday, February 2.
