The Elgin Comets ran past the host Ridgemont Golden Gophers basketball team by a final score of 65-46 in Friday's league game.

In their next game, the Comets face the Fredericktown Freddies (Fredericktown, OH) in a non-league game, on Tuesday, January 31. Elgin will attempt to move on its 10-6 season record. The Freddies enter the game with a 12-6 record after their 52-44 league win over Northmor (Galion, OH).

With the defeat, Ridgemont moves to 4-10 on the year. The Golden gophers travel to Leipsic (Leipsic, OH) to face the Vikings in a non-league game on Tuesday, January 31. The Vikings enter the game with a record of 5-10. Leipsic lost 75-44 in their recent league game against Jefferson (Delphos, OH)
