In Friday's league outing, the New Berlin Pretzels (New Berlin, IL) basketball squad felled the visiting Illini Central Cougars (Mason City, IL), by a margin of 48-30.

The Pretzels (19-4) will now prepare for their outing against PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central (Petersburg, IL). The Bluejays go into the Sangamo outing with a 16-4 record. In their last outing, PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central thwarted Maroa-Forsyth (Maroa, IL), 50-37, in a league outing.

The Cougars now own a 9-11 record. They play next when they travel to Delavan for a Tomahawk outing on Saturday, January 28. Illini Central will clash with a Panthers squad coming off a 46-42 non-league win over Canton (Canton, IL). The Panthers record now stands at 9-15.
