Kirtland Hornets (Kirtland, OH) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Independence Blue Devils (Independence, OH), 65-44 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Kirtland upgrades its record to 9-5 on the campaign. The Hornets host Chardon (Chardon, OH) to play the Hilltoppers in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 28. The Hilltoppers come into the bout with a record of 9-4. Chardon won 56-44 in their recent league bout against Madison (Madison, OH)

Next up, the Blue Devils play the Lutheran West Longhorns (Rocky River, OH) in a Chagrin Valley - Metro bout, on Tuesday, January 31. Independence will attempt to upgrade on its 3-13 season record. The Longhorns come into the bout with a 15-1 record after their 81-63 non-league win over Mentor (Mentor, OH).
