Virginia High School Basketball - Oscar Smith thwarts Lakeland

The Oscar Smith Tigers (Chesapeake, VA) basketball knocked off the host Lakeland Cavaliers (Suffolk, VA), 63-50 in Friday's league test.

The Tigers (15-1) will now prepare for their test against Great Bridge (Chesapeake, VA). The Wildcats go into the Southeastern test with a 11-5 record. In their last test, Great Bridge went down by Western Branch (Chesapeake, VA), 71-61, in a league test.

The Cavaliers now own a 5-10 record. They play next when they travel to Western Branch for a Southeastern test on Tuesday, January 31. Lakeland will encounter a Bruins squad coming off a 66-60 non-league loss to Highland Springs (Highland Springs, VA). The Bruins record now stands at 9-6.
