    The Peoria Lions basketball team scored 57 points and held the visiting Normal Community Ironmen to 45 in the Lions league triumph on Friday.

    The Lions now sport a 12-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Metamora for a non-league contest on Saturday, January 28. Peoria will meet a Redbirds team coming off a 74-44 league win over Canton (Canton, IL). The Redbirds record now stands at 21-2.

    The Ironmen (13-12) will now prepare for their contest against Mahomet-Seymour (Mahomet, IL). The Bulldogs enter the non-league contest with a 8-13 record. In their last contest, Mahomet-Seymour was defeated by Normal West (Normal, IL), 60-50, in a non-league contest.
