The St. Francis de Sales Pioneers (Chicago, IL) basketball nipped the host Providence-St. Mel Knights (Chicago, IL), 53-46 in Friday's league test.

The Pioneers (10-18) will now prepare for their test against Bradley-Bourbonnais (Bradley, IL). The Boilermakers go into the non-league test with a 13-8 record. In their last test, Bradley-Bourbonnais got by Andrew (Tinley Park, IL), 59-48, in a league test.

The Knights now own a 3-17 record. They play next when they host DePaul College Prep for a Chicago Catholic - Blue test on Tuesday, January 31. Providence-St. Mel will encounter a Rams squad coming off a 58-42 non-league loss to New Trier (Winnetka, IL). The Rams record now stands at 14-9.
