Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the South Carroll Cavaliers (Sykesville, MD) and the visiting Smithsburg Leopards (Smithsburg, MD), saw South Carroll's basketball squad hold off Smithsburg by a count of 51-46.

With the victory, South Carroll upgrades its record to 4-10 on the campaign. The Cavaliers host Liberty (Sykesville, MD) to play the Lions in a Carroll County challenge on Friday, February 3. The Lions come into the challenge with a record of 14-3. Liberty won 72-70 in their recent league challenge against Winters Mill (Westminster, MD)

Next up, the Leopards play the Williamsport Wildcats (Williamsport, MD) in a CMC challenge, on Tuesday, January 31. Smithsburg will attempt to upgrade on its 8-6 season record. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a 7-5 record after their 65-63 league win over South Hagerstown (Hagerstown, MD).
