Bishop O'Connell Knights (Arlington, VA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host The Academy of the Holy Cross Tartans (Kensington, MD), 63-45 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Bishop O'Connell upgrades its record to 10-9 on the season. The Knights host Archbishop Carroll (Washington, DC) to play the Lions in a DCSAA bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 12-8. Archbishop Carroll lost 62-24 in their recent league bout against Paul VI (Chantilly, VA)

Next up, the Tartans play the St. Mary's Ryken Knights (Leonardtown, MD) in a Washington Catholic bout, on Tuesday, January 31. The Academy of the Holy Cross will attempt to upgrade on its 3-10 season record. The Knights go into the bout with a 8-12 record after their 73-54 league loss to Our Lady of Good Counsel (Olney, MD).
