East Beauregard Trojans (DeRidder, LA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Merryville Panthers (Merryville, LA), 71-64 in a league bout.

With the win, East Beauregard upgrades its record to 11-10 on the season. The Trojans travel to Basile (Basile, LA) to play the Bearcats in a 1A District 5 bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Bearcats go into the bout with a record of 1-13. Basile lost 54-9 in their recent league bout against Elton (Elton, LA)

Next up, the Panthers play the Gueydan Bears (Gueydan, LA) in a 1A District 5 bout, on Tuesday, January 31. Merryville will attempt to upgrade on its 7-7 season record.
