Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the South Carroll Cavaliers (Sykesville, MD) and the host Smithsburg Leopards (Smithsburg, MD), saw South Carroll's basketball squad overcome Smithsburg by a tally of 49-32.

With the victory, South Carroll improves its record to 5-8 on the campaign. The Cavaliers host Liberty (Sykesville, MD) to confront the Lions in a Carroll County challenge on Friday, February 3. The Lions come into the challenge with a record of 6-8. Liberty won 49-22 in their recent league challenge against Winters Mill (Westminster, MD)

Next up, the Leopards confront the Williamsport Wildcats (Williamsport, MD) in a Central Maryland challenge, on Monday, January 30. Smithsburg will attempt to improve on its 4-10 season record. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a 14-0 record after their 68-20 league win over South Hagerstown (Hagerstown, MD).
