The Warner Monarchs (Warner, SD) basketball nipped the visiting Waubay/Summit Mustangs (Waubay, SD), 59-54 in Friday's non-league test.

The Monarchs (11-2) will now prepare for their test against Sully Buttes (Onida, SD). The Chargers go into the non-league test with a 9-2 record. In their last test, Sully Buttes got by Hitchcock-Tulare (Hitchcock, SD), 50-42, in a non-league test.

The Mustangs now own a 6-6 record. They play next when they travel to Langford for a non-league test on Monday, January 30. Waubay/Summit will encounter a Lions squad coming off a 48-22 league loss to Northwestern Area (Mellette, SD). The Lions record now stands at 2-11.
