The crowd at Friday's non-league test between the Mountain Ridge Mountain Lions (Glendale, AZ) and the visiting Cesar Chavez Champions (Laveen, AZ), saw Mountain Ridge's soccer squad beat Cesar Chavez by a margin of 6-2.

The Mountain Lions now sport a 7-5 record. They play next when they host Pinnacle for a 6A Desert Valley test on Tuesday, January 31. Mountain Ridge will meet a Pioneers squad coming off a 9-1 league win over Boulder Creek (Anthem, AZ). The Pioneers record now stands at 9-3.

With the loss, Cesar Chavez drops to 7-9 on the season. The Champions travel to West Point (Avondale, AZ) to meet the Dragons in a 6A West Valley test on Tuesday, January 31. The Dragons come into the test with a record of 4-10. West Point won 3-0 in their recent league test against Maricopa (Maricopa, AZ)
