Wheeling Central Catholic Maroon Knights (Wheeling, WV) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Charleston Catholic Irish (Charleston, WV), 56-47 in a league bout.

With the win, Wheeling Central Catholic upgrades its record to 12-2 on the season. The Maroon Knights travel to Fort Frye (Beverly, OH) to clash with the Cadets in a non-league bout on Thursday, February 15. The Cadets go into the bout with a record of 9-8.

Next up, the Irish clash with the Scott Skyhawks (Madison, WV) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Charleston Catholic will attempt to upgrade on its 12-1 season record. The Skyhawks go into the bout with a 5-9 record after their 60-57 league loss to Lincoln County (Hamlin, WV).
