The San Dieguito Academy Mustangs (Encinitas, CA) basketball knocked off the visiting Escondido Cougars (Escondido, CA), 66-51 in Saturday's non-league test.

The Mustangs (5-17) will now prepare for their test against Torrey Pines (San Diego, CA). The Falcons go into the Freelance test with a 17-6 record. In their last test, Torrey Pines went down by Carlsbad (Carlsbad, CA), 62-54, in a league test.

The Cougars now own a 9-14 record. They play next when they host Valley Center for a Valley test on Wednesday, January 31. Escondido will encounter a Jaguars squad coming off a 76-50 non-league win over Orange Glen (Escondido, CA). The Jaguars record now stands at 14-10.
