Nebraska High School Basketball - Grand Island tops Omaha Northwest

January 27, 2024: Omaha, NE 68134

Grand Island Islanders (Grand Island, NE) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Omaha Northwest Huskies (Omaha, NE), 58-44 in a league bout.

With the victory, Grand Island upgrades its record to 6-9 on the campaign. The Islanders travel to Lincoln East (Lincoln, NE) to play the Spartans in a A District TBD bout on Monday, January 29. The Spartans come into the bout with a record of 6-8. Lincoln East lost 61-47 in their recent league bout against Elkhorn South (Omaha, NE)

Next up, the Huskies play the Gretna Dragons (Gretna, NE) in a A District TBD bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Omaha Northwest will attempt to upgrade on its 3-11 season record. The Dragons come into the bout with a 12-4 record after their 67-44 league win over Millard South (Omaha, NE).
