Mississippi High School Basketball - Myrtle ripped by Walnut

The Walnut Wildcats basketball team scored 92 points and held the host Myrtle Hawks to 51 in the Wildcats non-league triumph on Saturday.
The Wildcats now sport a 12-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host East Union for a 2A Region 1 contest on Monday, January 29. Walnut will battle a Urchins team coming off a 52-44 non-league win over Thrasher (Booneville, MS). The Urchins record now stands at 13-8.
The Hawks (2-23) will now prepare for their contest against Ashland (Ashland, MS). The Blue Devils enter the 1A Region 2 contest with a 4-11 record. In their last contest, Ashland triumphed over Jumpertown (Booneville, MS), 55-51, in a league contest.
