The Boyd County Lions (Ashland, KY) basketball knocked off the host Huntington Highlanders (Huntington, WV), 64-54 in Saturday's non-league test.
The Lions (17-5) will now prepare for their test against Russell (Russell, KY). The Red Devils go into the non-league test with a 15-6 record. In their last test, Russell went down by St. Albans (St. Albans, WV), 55-49, in a non-league test.
The Highlanders now own a 5-7 record. They play next when they travel to Parkersburg for a Mountain State test on Tuesday, January 30. Huntington will encounter a Big Reds squad coming off a 63-52 league loss to George Washington (Charleston, WV). The Big Reds record now stands at 12-3.
