In Saturday's non-league outing, the Springfield Catholic Fighting Irish (Springfield, MO) basketball squad edged the visiting Mountain Grove Panthers (Mountain Grove, MO), by a margin of 54-51.

The Fighting Irish (7-9) will now prepare for their outing against Hollister (Hollister, MO). The Tigers go into the Big 8 outing with a 2-15 record. In their last outing, Hollister was tipped by Reeds Spring (Reeds Spring, MO), 53-30, in a league outing.
