In Saturday's non-league outing, the Olympia Spartans (Stanford, IL) basketball squad edged the visiting St. Joseph-Ogden Spartans (St. Joseph, IL), by a margin of 56-49.
The Spartans (14-10) will now prepare for their outing against El Paso-Gridley (El Paso, IL). The Titans go into the non-league outing with a 12-9 record. In their last outing, El Paso-Gridley was tipped by Fieldcrest (Minonk, IL), 50-43, in a league outing.
The Spartans now own a 12-10 record. They play next when they travel to Rantoul for a Illini Prairie outing on Monday, January 29. St. Joseph-Ogden will clash with a Eagles squad coming off a 50-22 non-league loss to New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly (New Berlin, IL). The Eagles record now stands at 5-18.
