Winston-Salem Christian Lions (Winston-Salem, NC) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Providence Day Chargers (Charlotte, NC), 48-44 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Winston-Salem Christian upgrades its record to 12-7 on the campaign. The Lions travel to NC GBB Academy National (Durham, NC) to play the Eagles in a non-league bout on Friday, February 2. The Eagles come into the bout with a record of 11-12. NC GBB Academy National lost 74-56 in their recent non-league bout against Life Center Academy (Burlington, NJ)

Next up, the Chargers play the Charlotte Christian Knights (Charlotte, NC) in a NCISAA Charlotte Independent bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Providence Day will attempt to upgrade on its 17-7 season record. The Knights come into the bout with a 5-11 record after their 60-20 league loss to Charlotte Country Day School (Charlotte, NC).
