Tularosa Wildcats (Tularosa, NM) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Shiprock Chieftains (Shiprock, NM), 38-23 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Tularosa upgrades its record to 11-6 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Cloudcroft (Cloudcroft, NM) to play the Bears in a 2A District 3 bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Bears come into the bout with a record of 4-12. Cloudcroft lost 46-30 in their recent non-league bout against Jal (Jal, NM)

Next up, the Chieftains play the Miyamura Patriots (Gallup, NM) in a 4A District 1 bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Shiprock will attempt to upgrade on its 8-9 season record. The Patriots come into the bout with a 4-14 record after their 45-35 league loss to Bloomfield (Bloomfield, NM).
