Bellevue West Thunderbirds (Bellevue, NE) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Kearney Bearcats (Kearney, NE), 58-49 in a league bout.

With the victory, Bellevue West upgrades its record to 2-0 on the campaign. The Thunderbirds travel to Papillion-LaVista South (Papillion, NE) to play the Titans in a bout on Wednesday, February 14. The Titans come into the bout with a record of 8-8.

Next up, the Bearcats play the Pius X Thunderbolts (Lincoln, NE) in a bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Kearney will attempt to upgrade on its 9-3 season record.
