In Monday's non-league contest, the host Chardon Hilltoppers basketball team scored a close 71-66 triumph over the Edgewood Warriors.

The Hilltoppers (6-8) will now prepare for their contest against Kenston (Chagrin Falls, OH). The Bombers go into the Western Reserve contest with a 6-10 record. In their last contest, Kenston was tipped by Mayfield (Mayfield, OH), 62-50, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Warriors confront the Madison Blue Streaks (Madison, OH) in a Chagrin Valley - Lake contest, on Friday, January 31. Edgewood will attempt to better on its 4-11 season record. The Blue Streaks go into the contest with a 10-5 record after their 58-52 non-league win over East (Youngstown, OH).
