The East Ascension Spartans basketball team scored 83 points and limited the host Lake Arthur Tigers to 45 in the Spartans non-league triumph on Monday.

The Spartans now possess a 12-4 record. They play next when they host Denham Springs for a 5A District 5 game on Thursday, January 30. East Ascension will confront a Yellowjackets team coming off a 78-64 non-league loss to Central (Baton Rouge, LA). The Yellowjackets record now stands at 22-2.

With the loss, Lake Arthur falls to 12-19 on the campaign. The Tigers host Lafayette Christian Academy (Lafayette, LA) to confront the Knights in a 2A District 6 game on Tuesday, January 28. The Knights go into the game with a record of 9-16. Lafayette Christian Academy lost 72-55 in their recent non-league game against St. Thomas More (Lafayette, LA)
