Virginia High School Basketball - Hopewell nips The Covenant

January 27, 2025: Charlottesville, VA 22902

The crowd at Monday's non-league challenge between the Hopewell Blue Devils (Hopewell, VA) and the host The Covenant Eagles (Charlottesville, VA), observed Hopewell's basketball team edge The Covenant by a score of 50-45.

The Blue Devils (8-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Dinwiddie (Dinwiddie, VA). The Generals come into the Central challenge with a 5-9 record. In their last challenge, Dinwiddie was tipped by Matoaca (Chesterfield, VA), 63-32, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Eagles battle the St. Anne's-Belfield Saints (Charlottesville, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, January 29. The Covenant will attempt to improve on its 13-3 season record. The Saints come into the challenge with a 13-0 record after their 71-53 league win over St. Margaret's (Tappahannock, VA).
