In Monday's non-league contest, the visiting Newman Fighting Cardinals basketball team scored a good 47-37 triumph over the Tri-County Penguins.

The Fighting Cardinals (3-11) will now prepare for their contest against Northland Lutheran (Mosinee, WI). The Wildcats go into the non-league contest with a 6-6 record. In their last contest, Northland Lutheran topped Gresham Community (Gresham, WI), 45-42, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Penguins battle the Pittsville Panthers (Pittsville, WI) in a Central Wisconsin - South contest, on Tuesday, January 28. Tri-County will attempt to better on its 1-7 season record. The Panthers go into the contest with a 12-4 record after their 62-19 league win over Rosholt (Rosholt, WI).
