The South Lyon Lions (South Lyon, MI) basketball nipped the visiting Kettering Captains (Waterford, MI), 57-53 in Friday's league test.

The Lions (3-7) will now prepare for their test against Lakeland (White Lake, MI). The Eagles go into the Lakes Valley test with a 10-2 record. In their last test, Lakeland got by Walled Lake Central (Walled Lake, MI), 49-41, in a league test.

The Captains now own a 0-10 record. They play next when they host Milford for a Lakes Valley test on Tuesday, February 1. Kettering will encounter a Mavericks squad coming off a 49-42 league loss to Mott (Waterford, MI). The Mavericks record now stands at 8-4.
