Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Rock Island Rocks (Rock Island, IL) and the visiting Bloomington Purple Raiders (Bloomington, IL), saw Rock Island's basketball squad overcome Bloomington by a tally of 72-53.
With the victory, Rock Island improves its record to 16-9 on the campaign. The Rocks host Alleman (Rock Island, IL) to confront the Pioneers in a Western Big 6 challenge on Friday, February 3. The Pioneers come into the challenge with a record of 6-19. Alleman won 57-44 in their recent league challenge against Geneseo (Geneseo, IL)
Next up, the Purple Raiders confront the Manual Rams (Peoria, IL) in a Big Twelve challenge, on Friday, February 3. Bloomington will attempt to improve on its 5-18 season record. The Rams come into the challenge with a 16-8 record after their 57-52 non-league win over Morton (Morton, IL).
