Herrin Tigers (Herrin, IL) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Gateway Legacy Christian Academy Lions (Florissant, MO), 62-59 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Herrin upgrades its record to 22-2 on the season. The Tigers host Massac County (Metropolis, IL) to play the Patriots in a Southern Illinois River-to-River - Ohio bout on Friday, February 10. The Patriots enter the game with a record of 20-4.

With the defeat, Gateway Legacy Christian Academy moves to 3-2 on the year.
