University Prep Panthers (Detroit, MI) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Hamady Hawks (Flint, MI), 61-60 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, University Prep upgrades its record to 4-12 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to River Rouge (River Rouge, MI) to play the Panthers in a Michigan Metro bout on Friday, February 3. The Panthers come into the bout with a record of 9-5. River Rouge lost 47-45 in their recent non-league bout against East Lansing (East Lansing, MI)

Next up, the Hawks play the Frankenmuth Eagles (Frankenmuth, MI) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 31. Hamady will attempt to upgrade on its 10-2 season record. The Eagles come into the bout with a 9-3 record after their 61-35 league win over Glenn (Bay City, MI).
