The Highland Springs Springers (Highland Springs, VA) basketball nipped the host Western Branch Bruins (Chesapeake, VA), 66-60 in Saturday's non-league test.
The Springers (11-6) will now prepare for their test against Hanover (Mechanicsville, VA). The Hawks go into the Capital test with a 10-8 record. In their last test, Hanover got by Atlee (Mechanicsville, VA), 60-49, in a league test.
The Bruins now own a 9-6 record. They play next when they host Lakeland for a Southeastern test on Tuesday, January 31. Western Branch will encounter a Cavaliers squad coming off a 63-50 league loss to Oscar Smith (Chesapeake, VA). The Cavaliers record now stands at 5-10.
