Fans at Saturday's league challenge between the Washington Academy Raiders (East Machias, ME) and the visiting Houlton Shiretowners (Houlton, ME), saw Washington Academy's basketball squad overcome Houlton by a tally of 46-37.

With the victory, Washington Academy improves its record to 8-8 on the campaign. The Raiders travel to Foxcroft Academy (Dover-Foxcroft, ME) to confront the Ponies in a B North challenge on Wednesday, February 1. The Ponies come into the challenge with a record of 10-4. Foxcroft Academy won 42-34 in their recent league challenge against John Bapst Memorial (Bangor, ME)

Next up, the Shiretowners confront the Central Aroostook Panthers (Mars Hill, ME) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, January 30. Houlton will attempt to improve on its 3-5 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 6-7 record after their 51-44 league win over Madawaska (Madawaska, ME).
