The Jacksonville Crimsons basketball team (Jacksonville, IL), was nudged 57-50 in Saturday's non-league battle with the host Mt. Zion Braves (Mt. Zion, IL)
The Braves now sport a 23-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Taylorville for a Apollo battle on Tuesday, January 31. Mt. Zion will battle a Tornadoes team coming off a 67-36 league loss to Charleston (Charleston, IL). The Tornadoes record now stands at 3-21.
The Crimsons (6-18) will now prepare for their battle against MacArthur (Decatur, IL). The Generals come into the Central State Eight battle with a 22-2 record. In their last battle, MacArthur was nudged by Richwoods (Peoria, IL), 65-61, in a non-league battle.
