The Metamora Redbirds (Metamora, IL) basketball knocked off the visiting Peoria Lions (Peoria, IL), 53-44 in Saturday's non-league test.
The Redbirds (22-2) will now prepare for their test against Pekin (Pekin, IL). The Dragons go into the Mid-Illini test with a 10-13 record. In their last test, Pekin went down by East Moline United (East Moline, IL), 73-44, in a non-league test.
The Lions now own a 12-10 record. They play next when they host Lanphier for a non-league test on Tuesday, January 31. Peoria will encounter a Lions squad coming off a 69-33 league loss to Sacred Heart-Griffin (Springfield, IL). The Lions record now stands at 15-9.
