The Northwest Rankin Cougars basketball team scored 82 points and held the host Pearl Pirates to 51 in the Cougars league triumph on Saturday.
The Cougars now sport a 8-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Ridgeland for a non-league contest on Friday, February 3. Northwest Rankin will battle a Titans team coming off a 63-45 non-league win over Brookhaven (Brookhaven, MS). The Titans record now stands at 16-10.
With the defeat, Pearl moves to 1-14 on the year. The Pirates host Florence (Florence, MS) to meet the Eagles in a non-league match on Wednesday, February 1. The Eagles enter the match with a record of 5-8. Florence lost 45-43 in their recent league match against West Jones (Laurel, MS)
