Rosepine Eagles (Rosepine, LA) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Simsboro Tigers (Simsboro, LA), 69-62 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Rosepine upgrades its record to 14-7 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Pickering (Leesville, LA) to play the Red Devils in a 2A District 4 bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Red Devils come into the bout with a record of 16-8. Pickering won 58-55 in their recent league bout against Holy Savior Menard (Alexandria, LA)

Next up, the Tigers play the Downsville Demons (Downsville, LA) in a B District 2 bout, on Tuesday, January 31. Simsboro will attempt to upgrade on its 4-12 season record. The Demons come into the bout with a 0-23 record after their 56-36 non-league loss to Kilbourne (Kilbourne, LA).
