Newton Railroaders (Newton, KS) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Garden City Buffaloes (Garden City, KS), 40-30 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Newton upgrades its record to 5-7 on the campaign. The Railroaders host Hutchinson (Hutchinson, KS) to play the Salthawks in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Salthawks come into the bout with a record of 9-3. Hutchinson lost 44-28 in their recent non-league bout against Washburn Rural (Topeka, KS)
Next up, the Buffaloes play the Dodge City Demons (Dodge City, KS) in a Western bout, on Tuesday, January 31. Garden City will attempt to upgrade on its 4-10 season record. The Demons come into the bout with a 5-8 record after their 46-35 non-league loss to Manhattan (Manhattan, KS).
