Mississippi High School Basketball - Walnut knocked off by Lafayette

The Lafayette Commodores basketball team scored 54 points and held the visiting Walnut Wildcats to 39 in the Commodores non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Commodores now sport a 19-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Pontotoc for a non-league contest on Tuesday, January 31. Lafayette will meet a Warriors team coming off a 51-32 non-league win over Kossuth (Kossuth, MS). The Warriors record now stands at 23-1.

The Wildcats (13-11) will now prepare for their contest against Falkner (Falkner, MS). The Eagles enter the non-league contest with a 3-10 record. In their last contest, Falkner was outscored by Wheeler (Wheeler, MS), 49-37, in a league contest.
