St. John's Mavericks (Houston, TX) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting St. Stephen's Episcopal Spartans (Austin, TX), 60-21 in a league bout.

With the win, St. John's upgrades its record to 14-14 on the season. The Mavericks host The Awty International (Houston, TX) to clash with the Rams in a Southwest Prep - South bout on Wednesday, February 1. The Rams go into the bout with a record of 10-6. The Awty International won 54-41 in their recent league bout against Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart (Houston, TX)

Next up, the Spartans clash with the St. Andrew's Highlanders (Austin, TX) in a Southwest Prep - South bout, on Wednesday, February 1. St. Stephen's Episcopal will attempt to upgrade on its 5-8 season record. The Highlanders go into the bout with a 17-9 record after their 41-31 league loss to St. John's (Houston, TX).
