The Montour Spartans basketball team (McKees Rocks, PA), was toppled 71-61 in Sunday's non-league battle with the visiting Moon Area Tigers (Moon Township, PA)

The Tigers now possess a 13-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host North Hills for a WPIAL 5A 4 battle on Tuesday, January 30. Moon Area will confront a Indians team coming off a 68-67 non-league win over Belle Vernon (Belle Vernon, PA). The Indians record now stands at 9-7.

The Spartans (14-3) will now prepare for their battle against South Allegheny (McKeesport, PA). The Gladiators come into the WPIAL 4A 4 battle with a 11-5 record. In their last battle, South Allegheny beat Avonworth (Pittsburgh, PA), 59-55, in a league battle.
