The crowd at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Eastern Mennonite Flames (Harrisonburg, VA) and the host Shenandoah Valley Academy Stars (New Market, VA), observed Eastern Mennonite's basketball team knock off Shenandoah Valley Academy by a score of 80-66.
The Flames (3-12) will now prepare for their challenge against New Covenant (Lynchburg, VA). The Gryphons come into the Virginia Independent challenge with a 13-6 record. In their last challenge, New Covenant prevailed over Tandem Friends (Charlottesville, VA), 50-39, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Stars encounter the Granger Christian Knights (Granger, IN) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, January 30. Shenandoah Valley Academy will attempt to improve on its 9-5 season record. The Knights come into the challenge with a 4-4 record after their 52-51 league win over Calumet Christian (Griffith, IN).
