In Tuesday's non-league contest, the visiting Plainville Cardinals basketball team scored a close 46-43 triumph over the Ellsworth Bearcats.

The Cardinals (8-3) will now prepare for their contest against Trego (WaKeeney, KS). The Golden Eagles go into the Mid-Continent contest with a 7-5 record. In their last contest, Trego was tipped by Hoxie (Hoxie, KS), 58-49, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Bearcats confront the Southeast of Saline Trojans (Gypsum, KS) in a North Central AA contest, on Friday, January 31. Ellsworth will attempt to better on its 6-7 season record. The Trojans go into the contest with a 7-7 record after their 74-31 league win over Minneapolis (Minneapolis, KS).
